About Us

Immersed in over 300,000 acres of wilderness, at Trappers Lake Lodge & Resort we strive to blend our activities into a peaceful coexistence with the natural beauty all around us.  We're proud to welcome you to Trappers Lake, where the wilderness preservation movement began in 1919, culminating in 1964 with this nation's bold and first of its kind ever Wilderness Protection Act.

Our resort features quaint log cabin accommodations with a full service restaurant and bar.  Come in and enjoy a delicious Trappers mountain meal in our wonderful lodge or enjoy the view from the deck.  Everything you need or want is on-site: horses, boats, canoes, general store, laundry facilities, bath house, restaurant and full bar.  Relax in a rustic cabin or "rough it" in a tent at one of our Wilderness campsites accessible by foot or on horseback.  At 9,500 feet the air is crisp and clean, the skies are crystal blue and the stars are so bright they light up the heavens.

In the heart of the White River National Forest, 50 miles east of Meeker and 70 miles southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, the Flat Tops Wilderness Area features:

Over 30 alpine lakes with 1,400 surface acres

100 miles of excellent stream fishing

Some of the largest elk herds in North America

Areas of pristine wilderness where no motor vehicles are allowed

And sceneries unlike any other place in Colorado...or any other place on earth
